*Adequately anhydrous for many applications, however a final drying step is recommended for applications which require rigorously dry conditions (ie. a nominal moisture content of 20 ppm or less is recommended for Grignard and certain organometallic reactions such as organolithium reactions. This can be achieved by drying over 5-10% w/v of freshly activated 4A molecular sieves.)
The "Green" Ethereal Solvent- manufactured from a natural, renewable resource. 2-MeTHF has some advantages over THF and diethyl ether. Being less miscible with water than THF, 2-MeTHF does not require removal prior to a standard workup. 2-MeTHF offers better solubility to most organic substrates than diethyl ether. 2-MeTHF has a higher boiling point which allows for a higher reflux temperature and more cushion against exotherms.
Packaged under argon in a new amber glass bottle with PTFE-lined cap and secondary containment.
