Description
Hi, this is a killer Fenwick rod. If you need a good, medium action, 9 ft long surf rod, with a soft tip, this is the rod for you. Would be a great rod for pompano, throwing jigs for fluke, spoons for salmon from the shoreline, whatever you need it for. Good rod for stripers too , for throwing plugs, like bombers or SPs, smaller lures. I would say 3 oz is the max, I would be more comfortable throwing 2 oz with this rod. It's a whippy rod. All the guys are good, nice and tight. Real seat looks good, clean. Rod doesn't really look used honestly. Looks like it's just been used, maybe a few dozen times, if that. I would say not at all, but there are a few marks on the ride, nothing crazy. I'm sure you can take some of them off, with some alcohol. I'm not doing that though. Not the smoothest epoxy job I've seen in my life, down by where it says Fenwick it's a little bit rough between the Fenwick mark, and the butt of the rod. The epoxy around the guys is a little better. Feels like there's one spot where maybe there was some tape, and the glue from the tape is still there a little bit. Oh and the guide, it's a rough wire guide, I would remove it and put a new one on. I know a lot about fishing, and I can tell you, without a shadow of a doubt, this is one great rod. I don't think it's been used. As for the handle itself, just some dents, and one little piece of rubber or cork or something embedded in the rubber like a tiny 120th of an inch thing. If you want a beautiful look like it's never been used Fenwick rod. This is the rod. It's heartbreaking to even list It. I have a lot of Fenwick rods though, and I just don't see, how this one fits what I do. I can't take it to the grave with me.
